The pill worked great for about two years, then it started wearing off before bedtime, then before dinner. That's what sent me looking. Cooper is a lab, so he takes two a day. Week three the night scratching stopped. By week six the bald strip on his belly had filled in enough that you had to look for it. He has not needed a refill on his prescription since June and I have not asked the vet to renew it. We go through about two jars a month.

Bought a probiotic chew last year off a recommendation and it did nothing for the paw licking. Turns out that's half the problem, which is the first thing anyone has bothered to explain to me. I almost returned these at week two because nothing was happening. Read the instructions again and saw that's normal, so I stuck it out. Day 28ish is when I noticed she wasn't chewing her back leg during dinner anymore. Docking a star because two weeks of nothing is a long time when your dog is miserable and nobody tells you that up front. They do tell you. I just didn't read it.
